This James Braidwood Fire Boat represents the finest in master craftsmanship. Built by Master Ship Model Builders with more than 35 years individual experience.
 

Named after one of the most progressive and ingenious chief fire officers of all times in Great Britain, James Braidwood. He developed a new communications system of his own to control men and machinery at the scene of a fire.

By age 26 he was chief officer of the Edinburgh, Scotland, Fire Brigade. Seven years later, he came the first London Fire Brigade Chief.

The Fire Boat James Braidwood was in the service of the London Fire Brigade from 1939 to 1961.

Built in 1936 it is thought that she saw service during the 1940 Blitz on London.
 

She stood 45 feet long with three internal combustion engines allowing a top speed of 20 knots.

Two outside engines were used to drive the turbine fire pumps, each with a capacity of 750 gallons per minute.

During her long life, James Braidwood served her country well, saving many lives.

Our scale model version incorporates many details and beautiful woodworking.

The cockpit contains actual printed gauges, the chair has a brass back, the door has a brass port hole and door knob. Brass railings, lighting and accents abound. Wooden stairs match deck wood. Cabins are stained Mahogany.
 

We build each model by hand in the USA using only professional grade materials.

Enhanced with exterior detailing including unsurpassed intricate detail painting, brass work and detail accents like the navigation light bulb with transparent lenses and brass spot lights with bulbs.
 

Each model is mounted on a natural wood base. Our standard base is made of Red Oak and finished in numerous coats of hand rubbed fine Danish oils.

A wood mounted brass engraved nameplate is always included.
