The United States Coast Guard Barque "Eagle" was commissioned in 1946 and is still sailing strong as their current training ship. This three-masted Barque belongs to the latest class of sailboats of great capacity and size. Dedicated exclusively to the training of future officers of the United States Coast Guard from her permanent home at the CG Academy in New London, Connecticut.

This "Eagle" model is rigged as a Corvette and possesses a graceful hull. She is outfitted with very modern marine and control conditions. Annually making trips throughout all the oceans of the world as America's only active duty square rigger.

Under full sail this impressive Cutter flies 21,350 square feet of sail and five miles of rigging lines with a maximum speed of 16 knots. A true modeling masterpiece of sails and rigging work.

Fully rigged with complete running and flying rigging and cloth sails all with intricate top quality workmanship.

These images are of a custom work commissioned by the National Boating Safety Advisory Council to celebrate forty years of service and the retirement of a highly respected USCG civilian executive, Albert J. Marmo. Each model case includes a custom mounted engraved brass nameplate.

This investment quality scale model version of this graceful trainer has a solid hull construction which is painted to the USCG specifications. Includes white railings and five matching ship's boats. Executed by a Master Builder with precise attention to detail and quality control.
