This plane represents a similar aircraft to that of Robert P. ("Duke") Hedman who downed five Japanese planes, making him one of the first American Aces of World War II.

It took a rare breed of brave men to fly these incredible planes into battle against the Japanese over China during WWII. The tiger faces painted on each plane seemed to express the ferocity and fearlessness of the pilots who served under Claire Chennault.

There were never more than 50 ready for combat at any one time. Parts were always in short supply and bullet holes were hastily patched with chewing gum and tape.

In combat they were outnumbered at least ten to one. Surviving the odds, the Tigers were never beaten in battle. In fact, in just six months of service, they destroyed at least 299 Japanese planes.
This realistic "Flying Tiger" model is enhanced with many embellishments.

The air brushed camouflage paint job is complete with highlights such as powder marks from the guns firing and gravel nicks on the propeller blades and leading wing edges. The engine cover is left off to show the brass engine detail work. The cockpit is fitted with seat belt and colorful detailed gauges.
